About Christmas in Broadstairs
The first Broadstairs Christmas Extravaganza took place on Sunday, 6th December 2009 and this year's event on Sunday 4th December 2011 will be its 3rd consecutive year.
The first event was the brainchild of four traders in the town who got together the previous in September 2009 with the idea of making something happen in Broadstairs in December, which would bring people into the town and through shop doors.
Each year's event is funded by traders in the town and with donations from the Broadstairs and St. Peter's Chamber of Commerce.
The event tries to involve as many Broadstairs groups as possible including local schools and dance groups who always take up the challenge to take part in the Christmas Parade.

We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to Broadstairs and St Peter's Town Council for their kind donation of £1000 towards the event, Thanet District Council for waiving the land charge hire at Pierremont Park.
